Qin Ai is a representative figure of contemporary fine brushwork painting. She is good at combining the space setting in Western painting with the artistic conception in Chinese traditional ink painting, creating a situation that seems real, unreal and full of charm. In hers works, animals have always been the protagonists. She believes that animals have a special charm: 'from the young and frivolous leopard to the smart deer, to the middle-aged and wise monkey, and finally the cloud light and wind clear crane. They are connected by the branches of life, which are both contradictory and interdependent.'
In this painting, Qin Ai depicts the indoor environment with a delicate pen and presents the interior of the building from a single point of view, thus creating an illusion of depth. The diamond brick on the floor gradually becomes smaller from near to far, and the perspective is accurate. The corridor like spatial layout, mysterious light and deer appearing out of thin air in the works can not help but remind people of the famous work of the Renaissance master Botticelli, The Annunciation of Angels.
